Session Description
Fundamentals of Photography - Part I: Getting to know your equipment. Professional photographer, J. Scott Kelly will introduce you to the fundamentals of photography. This session is designed to teach you the basics of your camera, lenses, and other photographic equipment. This session will cover basic manual operation, aperture and shutter speeds, depth of field, stop action vs. slow motion, lens choices, exposure and metering, digital formats, and storage. Don't forget to bring your camera!
About the Speaker
 J. Scott Kelly is a professional photographer with more than 25 years of experience as a commercial and portrait photographer. He studied the arts and developed a great interest in the realistic painters. While studying painting, he found he could achieve his goals through photography, so he chose to use a camera as his brush. After years of apprenticeship and study, he graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology in Jensen Beach in 1985 with an Honors Degree in Photographic Technology. His photography has taken him around the world capturing special moments in the lives of his clients.
